Speaker:
Lord Alderdice
Lord Alderdice is Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly and a Consultant
Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy. For 11 years the Leader of Northern Ireland's
cross-community Alliance Party, and a key negotiator of the Good Friday
Agreement he has substantial experience of political conflict and terrorism.
He is also steeped in international affairs as a Vice-President of the
European Liberal Democrat Party (a key voting block in the European Parliament)
and Deputy President of Liberal International, the world-wide federation
of over 80 political parties.
